Alyssa Alperson or “Lissy” for short.
I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and a proud product of the 80′s!
Ever since I was young I have loved make up and pretty much anything to do with skin. One of my earliest memories is of me and my older sister sitting at the top of our stairs putting on our moms make up at night when we were suppose to be sleeping. We were very young at the time and I know that bright blue eye shadow and hot pink lipstick was amongst the make up we used that night, and I’m pretty sure we got some make up on the carpet. OOOPS! I can’t remember if we got in trouble for that or not, but I know it happened.
I feel so fortunate to be able to remember exactly when I decided that the beauty industry was my calling. One night as the mall was closing my dad and I were walking thru a department store in the fragrance/ make up section and he said to me “Lissy you like this ‘skin stuff’ maybe you should try to get into that.” Even though I was only eight at the time, it’s like a light bulb went off in my head. Instantly I was hooked!
After a string of odd jobs in high school, once I turned 18 I immediately landed a job in the beauty industry. I began working for Bare Essentuals/Bare Minerals. I loved the product! I remember I got to assist the companies head make up artist and he was such an inspiration to me! I dreamed of one day becoming a head make up artist as well.
Most recently I entered the corporate world, and worked for an organic skincare company for a little under a year. Although, the company had such amazing products I found myself unhappy and felt stifled from what I wanted to do. Oh how I longed for the days that I could speak to a human other than thru a phone. I love being able to look into my clients eyes and see the happiness they receive by having a service done to them. I knew at this point that corporate life, although right for some, was just not for me and I happily moved forward and started my own mobile make up business. Being able to work with so many different people, many on some of the most important days of their lives, is tremendously rewarding.
I am so excited to share my knowledge of the things I have learned throughout these past several years. One of the things I love the most about this industry is being able to help others not only improve their outward appearance but in turn helps many with their inner beauty and self esteem. Whether its teaching someone tricks to clear their skin of breakouts, cover up unwanted under eye circles or a scar they much prefer to forget ever happened, that’s what I love to do. My journey thru this industry has not been an easy one, with a lot of bumps on the way. But if you believe in yourself and love what you do, you can achieve any goal.
